ICANN welcomes media and press participation in its meetings. The next round of ICANN meetings will be held in Santiago, Chile, on August 24-26. For those unable to attend in person, ICANN will be providing a realtime multimedia webcast – including video, audio, and realtime scribe's notes -- for the main plenary sessions: the ICANN Board meeting, the DNSO Names Council and General Assembly meetings, and the Governmental Advisory Committee's public forum.
The local Host Committee has posted an extensive web site with information about the meetings, travel, hotels, etc.
Pam Brewster (contact info below) will be coordinating media availability for the ICANN Board, as well as additional media events. Members of the media are encouraged to contact Pam to schedule interviews (in person or by phone) and to get updates on schedules, agendas, etc.
HOTEL INFORMATION
The ICANN meetings will be held primarily at the College of Economic Sciences, University of Chile in Santiago, Chile, with some meetings held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel. ICANN has reserved a block of rooms at this hotel to be used by the Internet community. When reserving a room with the Crowne Plaza, please be sure to mention that you are attending the ICANN meetings in order to receive the discounted room rate. We suggest you make reservations as soon as possible as these rooms will be filled quickly. Further details can be obtained by visiting the local Host Committee's hotel page.
