Save recently joined ICANN as its Australasia/Pacific Islands Liaison, based in Brisbane. He is one of several regional liaisons representing ICANN within the global internet community.
"With Pacific Islands origins, I'm really delighted to serve as the latest ICANN liaison to the Oceania region, to raise the profile of its activities, and to promote feedback to ICANN on the challenges and issues arising from the region," he said.
Save is well known to the Oceania telecom/Internet community and brings a wealth of experience that will be invaluable to ICANN.
His career began at Telecom Fiji, where he spent 14 years. He moved on to serve as First Manager at the Pacific Islands Telecommunications Association (PITA), collaborating on industry initiatives and member activities with regional and international stakeholders to foster information and communication technology development in the Pacific.
Most recently, Save performed both Liaison (Pacific) and Policy Development Manager roles for the Asia Pacific Network Information Centre (APNIC).
In addition to his other work, Save presents and participates in Pacific Islands telco/internet fora, liaising with industry stakeholder groups. He is an organizing committee member to the Pacific Network Operators Group (PacNOG) and is also a committee member to the Asia Pacific Regional Internet Conference on Operational Technologies (APRICOT) and the South Asian Network Operators Group (SANOG).
Save studied electrical and computing engineering at Queensland University of Technology in Australia.
