Communiqué for 24 July 2008

The BGC At Large Advisory Committee Working Group (WG) held its fourth meeting on 24 July 2008 with to discuss the independent reviewer’s Final Report and upcoming WG efforts related to the ALAC Review to prepare for Cairo.

  • The Chair provided an update on Westlake Consulting progress to complete the final report by 25 July 2008. The final report will be posted by 28 July 2008. The community is encouraged to review the final report and submit comments on ICANN’s Public Participation site. The public may submit their comments until 12 September 2008 when the comment period on the final report closes.
  • The WG discussed the importance of quality and timely translation of reports and how important translation is in the process of the ALAC Review. The WG will work with ICANN staff to ensure quality translated versions of the final report are available shortly.
  • The WG discussed the WG efforts to be accomplished in preparation of ICANN’s Cairo meeting and preliminary discussion of meetings in Cairo.
