11 July 2007 | The North American region of At-Large has reached a consensus on the contents of a Memorandum of Understanding ("MOU") between the region and ICANN.
9 July 2007 | At the San Juan ICANN meeting, the ccNSO and GAC joint IDN working group finalized an issues paper relating to the introduction and selection of IDN ccTLDs associated with the ISO 3166-1 two letter codes. The paper can be found here [PDF, 41 KB].
9 July 2007 | Registrars and ICANN have negotiated a reduction in the transaction fees paid for each domain name registration. It is the second such reduction in two years, which means a drop from US$0.25 to US$0.20 cents.
Dan Halloran is ICANN's Deputy General Counsel. One of ICANN's longest-serving employees, having joined the organization in May 2000, Dan has previously served ICANN as a Registrar Liaison, Chief Registrar Liaison, and was the corporation's Acting Secretary before General Counsel John Jeffrey assumed that responsibility.
As Deputy General Counsel, Dan works along side John Jeffrey on all ICANN-related legal matters. Dan has particular knowledge and experience with gTLD registrar and registry matters.
Dan is a 1999 graduate of Loyola Law School and a member of the State Bar of California. He has fourteen years of legal experience including work as a private investigator, paralegal, law clerk, and litigation associate. He received paralegal certification from UCLA Extension (1994), has studied at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, and holds an AB degree from the University of Chicago (1990). Dan speaks and writes Spanish fluently, is familiar with Portuguese and has studied Mandarin Chinese.
