Joe Abley | Director, DNS Group
Joe joined ICANN in 2009. He provides direction and management for ICANN's production DNS services, including the L Root Nameserver. Joe engages in technical community outreach through regional operator meetings, and is an active contributor to the IETF. Before joining ICANN, Joe held technical operations and architecture roles for TekSavvy, Afilias, ISC and AboveNet.
Mehmet Akcin | Manager, DNS Operations (PGP Key)
Mehmet Akcin has joined ICANN in 2006. He is currently a member of the DNS Operations Group. The team that's responsible for the all operations of Anycasted L-ROOT, One of the thirteen DNS Root Servers. DNS Operations Group is also responsible of the deployment, operations and development of DNSSEC and all other DNS Servers and their network at ICANN. Mehmet regularly attends Network Operator meetings.
Steve Antonoff | Director of Human Resources
Steve Antonoff joined ICANN as Director of Human Resources in March 2007. In this capacity Steve is responsible for the global human capital activities of the organization with a particular emphasis on performance management, sourcing qualified individuals to join the ICANN team, and developing efficiencies in process and procedure.

Bridgett joined ICANN in December 2007 as Sr. Human Resources Generalist, where she manages a broad range of HR functions including HR systems, employee relations, benefits and compensation administration, performance management, staffing, training and development and records management.

Stacy joined ICANN in November 2006 and serves as Director, Contractual Compliance where she is responsible for the day to day activities of the contract compliance and audit functions.
Mandy Carver | Deputy General Manager, Global Partnerships
Mandy Carver (Kathryn A. Carver) joined ICANN as the Deputy General Manager for Global Partnerships in November 2006. Her responsibilities include identifying and assessing the policy issues emerging from local internet conditions as well as leading, managing, and mentoring a team of regional liaisons that collaborate with local constituents and represent ICANN's global strategy.
Steve Chan | Manager, gTLD Integration
Steve joined ICANN in February 2008 and serves as New gTLD Process Coordinator where he is responsible for coordinating the processes for new and renewing gTLD applications.
Barbara Ann Clay | Vice President for Communications
Barbara Ann Clay, ICANN's Vice President for Communications, has an extensive background in international communications. She served in the top communications positions at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development in London and at Transparency International in Berlin. As Director of Public Affairs at the U.S. Treasury Department, she was the lead media spokesperson on international economic issues. She also served as Communications Director at the Ways and Means Committee in the U.S. Congress and as the spokesperson for the White House Office of Management and Budget.
David Closson | Director of IT Operations
David joined ICANN in February of 2009 bringing 11 years of network, systems and NOC management experience from the Internet service provider and managed co-location industry.
Tim Cole | Chief Registrar Liaison
Tim works in conjunction with the Director of Contract Compliance to review the operations of the gTLD domain name registrars. This involves promoting their compliance with ICANN agreements and policies and partnering with them to assure smooth operations. He oversees the registrar new and renewal accreditation process. Tim also provides oversight for the ICANN approved dispute resolution service providers who administer UDRP and other domain name dispute services.
Carole Cornell | Sr. Director, Project Office
Carole Cornell joined ICANN in November 2006 as the Director, Project Office. Her role is to create and maintain a uniform approach to project management; provide oversight for all projects, and serve as a change agent for continuous improvement through improved/enhanced methodologies. Carole brings over 25 years of diversified, multi-national and global experience in project management. Most recently Carole served as Vice President, Operations and in Business Development at WET Design. Prior to that, Carole was with Walt Disney Imagineering (WDI) as Executive Director, Project Technical Services and Integrated Business Applications.

Michelle joined ICANN in 2000 and has served various roles, primarily focusing on IANA functions. Michelle currently serves as the Manager, IETF Relations. In that capacity she develops and maintains working relationships with the IETF Community.
John Crain | Senior Director - Security, Stability and Resiliency (PGP Key)
John is responsible for establishing strategy, planning and execution for ICANN's external Security, Stability and Resiliency programs. He works on a cross functional basis with the ICANN executive team, staff and the community to enable and enhance capabilities that improve the overall security, stability and resiliency of the Internet's Identifier Systems and associated infrastructures and represents ICANN in operational and technical dialogues and forums to ensure the full communities engagement with these programs.

Kim Davies joined ICANN as IANA Technical Liaison. His primary responsibilities are for DNS root zone management, and other domain name related aspects of IANA's work.

Teresa Elias | Executive Assistant to Rod Beckstrom
Teresa Elias joined ICANN in August 2010 as the Executive Assistant to Rod Beckstrom, CEO. She is bilingual in English and Spanish and brings to ICANN over 20 years in state government, corporate, and non-profit C-level executive support experience. Most recently, she was the executive assistant to Symantec's corporate controller.

Deborah Escalera is a new member of the Generic Top Level Domain (gTLD) team. She began working for ICANN on October 31st, 2011 as the Administrative Assistant for the team. Deborah is responsible for handling administrative duties as well budget tracking, and application coordination.
Baher Esmat | Manager, Regional Relations – Middle East
Baher Esmat is part of ICANN Global Partnerships. He joined ICANN in February 2006 from the Egyptian Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT), where he had served since 2002, most recently as Telecom Planning Manager, where his responsibilities included projects relating to communications infrastructure and service development within the framework of building Egypt's Information Society.

Anne-Rachel Inné | Manager, Regional Relations - Africa
Anne-Rachel is part of the Global Partnership department at ICANN that has a network of seven regional liaisons so far. It was established in response to Internet community demand and in implementation of ICANN's publicly agreed strategic plan. Her responsibilities include outreach, support to and engagement with respective regions and stakeholders, civil society, business and governments; partnering with respective organizations; delivering against an action plan consistent with ICANN's operations and strategic plans.
Alice Jansen | Assistant to Org Reviews
Alice joined ICANN in January 2010. In this role, she is responsible for supporting the Review Teams mandated by the Affirmation of Commitments and assisting with the activities regarding the periodic review of ICANN structures and operations as required by ICANN Bylaws. Based in Brussels, Alice has dual British-French citizenship, holds a MA in translation and interpreting (June 2009), and has a good command of written German.

Richard Lamb | DNSSEC Program Manager

Veni Markovski | Manager, Regional Relations - Russia & CIS & Eastern Europe
Veni chairs the Bulgarian President's IT Advisory Committee since 2002, and has served on the Boards of ICANN, the Internet Society, CPSR, Sofia New Symphony Orchestra, and others. In 2003 he ran for mayor of Sofia. In 2006-2009 Veni Markovski supported the work of the Bulgarian Governmental Agency for Information Technologies and Communications by advising its chairman; he currently continues to help the Bulgarian government on international ITC-related issues. He has also been expert to several Bulgarian Parliaments, and is among the contributors to different laws, among them the Telecommunications Act, the Penal Code (computer crimes chapter), the Electronic Document and Digital Signature Law, the Copyright Law, and others.

Abby Newland is the Lead Application Coordinator and part of the CSC (Customer Service Center) for the gTLD program. Abby is assisting with the implementation and launch of the CSC, as well as assuming the day-to-day supervision of the CSC post launch.
Olof Nordling | Director, Services Relations and Branch Manager, Brussels office
Olof is a Swedish national and holds an MSc and was for many years Head of the TeliaSonera, the Swedish/Finnish Telecommunications group's Brussels office, where he was responsible for relations to the EU institutions for Telecommunications policy matters. In the past Olof was Counsellor and Head of the Science and Technology office at the Swedish Embassy in Paris. Prior to this he was Deputy Trade Commissioner for Sweden, based in Los Angeles. In his earlier career Olof was a Systems Analyst for Honeywell Bull in Paris.

Brad is ICANN's primary point of contact for news organizations and journalists from around the globe. He is an Emmy Award winning television correspondent and producer. His work has been seen on CNN, CBS, A&E and the Discovery Channel. Brad has also served as a senior investigator for two committees of the U.S. Senate.

Ann Yamashita joined ICANN in November 2011 as the New generic Top Level Domain (gTLD) Program Manager. She is responsible for the day to day activities related to program management and application processing of the New gTLD program.

ICANN in 2001, successively serving as as the first Director for At-Large, and the Vice President for Policy. As Advisor to the President & CEO her duties
include guiding strategic objectives and overseeing corporate

Dave is a recognized expert in the fields of Internet routing, broadband access and security. He served as an IESG area director of the IESG and authored several RFCs. Dave started a private consulting firm in 1993, and served as a technical advisor to a number of successful Internet startups. An enthusiastic freelance writer, Dave has published articles with the Business Communications Review, Wall Street Ticker, ENISA Journal, Information Security Magasine, and ISSA Journal. Dave also spent many years testing and evaluating emerging technology and publishing results in numerous trade publications. He has co-authored two books on Internet technologies and served as an acquisitions editor for a major publisher, and has also provided editorial supervision of web information portals and conference program development for major conference operators.
