Community Input Invited Concerning Rio de Janeiro Meeting

8 March 2003

To the ICANN Community:

Some of you have enquired whether the upcoming ICANN meeting in Rio de Janeiro will go forward as planned in the event of a war in the Middle East.

As of now, ICANN plans to hold the meeting as scheduled. We recognize, however, that institutional policies or personal concerns may affect individual decisions to travel, and indeed it may become difficult for some of you to attend.

We wish to be sensitive to the concerns of the ICANN community, and would therefore appreciate your current thinking as to whether your plans to travel to Rio de Janeiro are likely to change in the light of unfolding international events – or indeed any other advice you might have on this matter. We would particularly appreciate hearing from those of you who would have to travel from outside the region.

Because the meeting is close upon us, we would appreciate hearing from you no later than Friday, 14 March 2003.

Please send any comments to meeting@icann.org.
