Prof. Xiaodong Lee is responsible for the development and execution of ICANN's AP regional strategic objectives, driving and managing the diplomatic, educational and outreach communications related duties, including ICANN's relations with AP region's government, private sector stakeholders and international organizations.
He joined ICANN in December 2011 as the Vice President for Asia Pacific. Before joining ICANN, Prof. Xiaodong Lee was the Deputy Director General and Chief Technology Officer of China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC), he was leading the R&D of dotCN system and the dotChina application.
He was the former member of RSTEP, SSAC and SSR Review Team of ICANN, and coordinator of Chinese case study team of ICANN's Variant Issue Project, he is an expert on Internet security and Internationalization issues. He was the former co-chair of Email Address Internationalization WG of IETF, and the member of Application Area Review Team of IETF, the main contributor/author of RFC3473/RFC4713.
Prof. Xiaodong Lee hold a Ph.D. in Computer Sciences from Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and achieved the Research Professor position of CAS. He finished the Executive Development Program in Tsinghua University and Peiking University. He was awarded as Outstanding Youth Medal of China in 2009.
